hey there i'm a qualified hairdresser. most deep moisturings agents in the mask will just stop working after a certain amount of time so it probably wont make any difference than leaving it on for half an hour or so. to really allow the treatment to get into your hair, apply to clean damp hair, wrap in cling film and blast with a hairdryer for 5 mins or so (move the hairdryer evenly round your head). the heat opens the cuticles of your hair allowing the mask to penetrate your hair deeper. leave the mask on for another 20-25 mins then rinse with cool water. the cool water will then close the cuticle of your hair making it soft and shiny!What would happen if I left a deep moisturizing mask on over night instead of ten minutes?
You will block the pores and your hair roots will weaken if you make it a regular habit. Plus mosisturizing masks contain chemicals which leave the scalp dry.
My hair usually goes greasy really quickly if i leave mine on for too long but it depends on your hair type.


How long can you leave your hair before it goes greasy?
You might wake up with your hair or mushy. It depends if the mask has protein in it or not.
